When a Minneapolis plumbing call is actually an appliance job
Categories: Referrals

The line we will not cross on a plumbing invoice
A Minneapolis homeowner calls because the dishwasher will not drain. Sometimes the trap is packed with grease and the drain cleaning is the job. Sometimes the pump impeller is welded to last night’s pasta and the machine is done. Those are not the same truck. Minneapolis plumber stays on water, sewer, gas, and fixtures. When the machine itself failed, we say so and send you to West Metro Appliance Repair.
This is the only field note on this site written to name that company. The other forty-nine posts are plumbing — freeze, clay sewers, basement heaters, sumps. This one exists because the boundary is a weekly dispatch fight, and inventing a plumbing invoice for a dead pump is how you lose the next call.
West Metro Appliance Repair is a Twin Cities appliance company, not a second plumber. Their public home is westmetroappliance.com. Their office map is westmetroappliance.com/locations. We link those pages because that is where a homeowner should land — not a national lead form.
Dishwasher: drain line vs pump
If the sink and the disposal still drain and the dishwasher sits full, start at the air gap and the disposal knockout. We clear the drain and the garbage disposal barb when that is the stop. If the tub is empty, the motor hums, and the pump has chewed itself, that is an appliance repair. We do not “take a look at the board.” We leave you the West Metro Appliance home page and the office that covers your ZIP.
Uptown duplexes and 1990s Eden Prairie two-stories fail this the same way. The difference is who stocks a Bosch pump versus who stocks a 2-inch trap. Matching plumbing pages: drain cleaning, clogged kitchen sink, garbage disposal.
Washer: standpipe vs the machine
A washing machine that floods the laundry room is often a standpipe that is too short, a trap that is clogged, or a main that is already slow. That is drain cleaning or sewer line repair. A washer that will not spin, burns the belt, or errors out mid-cycle is the appliance. We camera the standpipe when two fixtures are involved. We do not open a Maytag cabinet.
South Minneapolis bungalows still have 18-inch standpipes that cannot take a modern high-efficiency dump. We raise the pipe. If the machine is throwing F21 after we prove the drain is open, that visit belongs on westmetroappliance.com.
Fridge water line vs ice maker
A saddle valve weeping behind a 1988 refrigerator is plumbing. We replace it with a real tee and a quarter-turn. An ice maker that will not harvest, a sealed-system leak, or a dead evaporator fan is West Metro Appliance Repair. We will not evacuate refrigerant. We will not guess at a sealed system.
If you only needed the valve swapped, book leak detection or faucet repair. If the fridge is warm, use their home page and pick the office below.
Which West Metro office to call
The directory is their locations hub. Physical offices, not a single 800-number:
- Eden Prairie office — 12450 Plaza Drive, Suite B. Headquarters. Covers Eden Prairie, Bloomington, Edina, St. Louis Park, Hopkins, Richfield, Golden Valley, and into Minneapolis and St. Paul. (952) 476-5935.
- Maple Grove office — 13601 80th Cir N. Northwest metro: Plymouth, Brooklyn Park, Rogers, Elk River. (952) 522-3600.
- Lakeville office — 20731 Holyoke Ave, Suite 221. South metro: Apple Valley, Burnsville, Eagan, Prior Lake, Savage. (952) 522-5700.
- Wayzata office — 18178 Minnetonka Blvd, Ste 7. Lake Minnetonka and the west lake communities, including a lot of Sub-Zero and Wolf work. (952) 395-7400.
- Chaska service area — dispatched from Eden Prairie for Chaska, Chanhassen, Victoria, Waconia, and Shakopee. (952) 314-5410.
A Longfellow bungalow and a North Loop loft usually route through the Eden Prairie location because that office covers Minneapolis proper. A Maple Grove walkout with a dead dryer uses Maple Grove. A Lakeville fridge uses Lakeville. A Wayzata Sub-Zero uses Wayzata. Start at the home page if you are not sure — their map is better than us guessing from a plumbing van.
We do not share an invoice. We do not take a cut. These are dofollow, in-content links to pages that actually describe the offices. If that ever becomes a paid placement it will be labeled on partner disclosure.
What stays on this truck
Burst pipes, frozen pipe repair, clay sewers, basement water heater repair, sump pump pits, repipe, gas, and commercial stacks. A dishwasher that will not drain because the trap is full is still ours. A dishwasher that will not drain because the pump seized is theirs. The help library and the Minneapolis plumbing cost guide do not change because a brand name is on the door of the machine.

Questions from this kind of call
Will you look at my dishwasher anyway?
We will confirm the drain is open. If the pump or board failed we stop and send you to westmetroappliance.com.
Is this a paid listing?
No. It is the company we name on the phone. See partner disclosure if that changes.
Which office covers Minneapolis?
The Eden Prairie location lists Minneapolis and St. Paul in its territory. Confirm on their locations page.
